July 22, 2008  Day before departure.

Tuesday night late and we are just about ready to leave early tomorrow  AM for a ride up to Paonia Co. for a few days.

It has been two years since we went to the Paonia BMW Rally. That trip was Sydni's first and she has been riding with me 2up from then on. We were on an old 1985 K  BMW that looked like the Beverly Hillbillies when we packed everything on.

Day 1 July 23,                                                                                                   

On the road at 9:00AM. Went up to Muleshoe and on over to Alamosa for the night. Checked in to a Best Western for the night. Rained a bit that night but  slept well in the nice confines of the dry room.

Day 2   July 28, 2008

 Left  Alamosa at the same 9:00am time as always. Had a good ride with temp dropping to the low 50s but it got over it. (90dg) Arrived at the rally to find people from the national rally were there early.

GPS on the old  1985 black BMW   K100 bike. Total miles are over 200K on the bike. This is the bike we took on Sydni first trip to Paonia in 2006. We packed it heavy for camping. Looked like a Dust Bowel couple from the 1930es. Had a good time even if Sydni had to walk a little ways to the shower.

Sure good to see Doug there also. Joan and Jerry J. were their too, but I failed to get a picture so I added an old one. I hope to get better at this but it is doubtfull.

One of the surprises on the trip was the great breakfast we had at a small diner in Delta CO.
