Sydni drove a 400 ton truck for Barrick Gold Strike Co. in Elko NV. before she retired and really went to work. Gold Wing is quite a change.

Sydni and the crew in front of her truck. She is in front row, far right, in the blue shirt. At that time it took this many people to operate the quarry on her shift.

Tires cost over $ 100,000.00   And I thought Gold Wing tires cost a lot of money.

NOT a good place to be in a pickup. Running over someone was always on her mind.   Just can not see them unless they are  some distance out front of the truck.

If you can't see a pickup, you sure could not see a person.

The EMD diesel engine drove a big generator that powered an electric drive motor at each wheel. When stopped they had to use the big chocks that you see on the bumper to block the wheels to keep it from rolling off down the quarry. (Big hole)

Japan Mfg. Assambled at site of use. To large to get there in one peace.

Mfg. by Komatsu Japan not Tonka.  It make her mad when I say it was built by Tonka.

Now after all the ribbing  and teasing I would like to include a few words to describe how much love and the affection I have for Sydni. She put up with my weird since of humor and I thank her for that also.

I found this poem by a fellow bike rider

William G. Carrington

http://www.williamgcarrington.com/

that expresses well the way I feel about  Sydni.

Among your small possessions
In a place all by itself
There's a gift I one time gave you
One heart upon your shelf

This gift takes little space up
And it's never in the way
I'd guess you never notice it
As you go about your day

You never have to move it
It goes every where you are
Just hovers in the background
But always not too far

So if you need some comfort
When things are not quite right
Take out the heart I gave you
It'll get you through the night

No matter where life's road leads
If fortune's promise proves untrue
One thing you'll take beyond this life's

The heart I gave to you.
